November 5, 1780? – Register date. Grant or warrant number 2299. Heirs of Francis Mosur to James Sanders: 640 acres. “On the north side of the Cumberland River river below the mouth of Drakes Creek.” (Ancestry.com) *Near present-day Hendersonville, Tennessee.

March 5, 1788 – Register date. Grant or warrant number 558. “Granted to Daniel Smith assignee of heir Samuel Moser a tract of land containing 640 acres lying and lying in our County of Davidson on the north side of the Cumberland River…” (Ancestry.com) *Note, this is Daniel Smith of Historic Rock Castle. 

April 13, 1795 – Register date. Grant or warrant number 1094. “At Fayetteville the 26th of November 1789.” “Granted unto James Sanders assignee Francis Mossar [Frances Moser] and Benjamin Robinson.” 914 acres. North of the Cumberland River near Daniel Smith’s line and Drakes Creek. (Ancestry.com) *Note, this is Daniel Smith of Historic Rock Castle. 

1800 – “Near this time (1800) … David and Daniel Mosier, with their parents and families, … all settled near the site of Sycamore Mills.” (Source: Goodspeed’s History of Cheatham County, published 1887)

October 26, 1825 – Record date. Entry 249. 100 acres of land on blue spring branch on Sycamore Creek to David Mosier near Thomas Watts. (Ancestry.com)

December 31, 1825 – A marriage license is issued to David Mosier and Elizabeth Bennett. The bondsman is Dempsey Morris. (Source: Nashville Archives) *David and Elizabeth are my fifth great-grandparents.

May 26, 1851 – Barbara Ann Mosier marries Jacob Francis Dowlin. Barbara is daughter of David Mosier. (Ancestry.com)

1856 – Cheatham County becomes a county. David Mosier lived in Sycamore Mills, which became part of Cheatham County.
